Just got back from trip CO to CA and Back solo

I went solo down to orange county california on my CBR600f2. I headed out west on I70 until fremont junction in the middle of utah and headed south. I did not see any cars for about 100 miles and for a little while it felt like I entered the twilight zone. The road started to get moderatly twisty but as I approached dixie national forest but cattle were standing in alot of the turns because it was an open range. It was really pretty though. I made it to torey utah and stayed the night.

I continued the next day and stayed in the mountains and road through bryce canyon and exited the mountains at cedar city utah. The road was twisty but had tar snakes everywhere and exposed cliff dropoffs but was fun anyways and the scenery made up for it by far. I continued down to las vegas and stayed the night and powered my way to orange county the next day.

I visited family and through the advice of my uncle went up the ortega highway. On the approach a group of sportbikes was weaving in and out of traffic and splitting lanes on the approach to the twisties. They were fully leathered up and figured they were going to leave me in the dust. On colorado canyon riding standards I consider my self average for people that actually ride. Well any ways, I ended up catching up to them about 3 hard turns into the highway. I guess they handle traffic better than us in CO but we have by far more difficult roads to negotiate. The highway was awesome though becasue of the combanation of high speed limit and slow turns and good road quality.

I came back on the I40 and headed up north at flagstaff arazona and went by the grand canyon and headed up to durango. From durango to denver I got hailed on twice and rained on the whole way back. I had rain gear but was freezing regardless.

Now I need to get my bike tuned up and a new set of tires because they are squared off. Overall It was a fun trip

The top one is from CO just outside of cortez. The center is in arazona somewhere and the bottom is dixie national forest

Im kinda depressed because I cant ride my bike until I get new tires and get my bike tuned up...It sounds like a sewing machine after the trip. The valves are way out and the carbs need to be sync'ed and the rear tire is done and the front only has about 800 miles left.

What sport touring tires would you guys recomend? I got conti road attacks last time and they seemed pretty good. But I have only been on those and the crappy stock ex250 tires...thanks in advance

right on... i think we plan to hit Ortega Highway at least one day. Going to stay the fuck away from Newport and Huntington Beach. I heard they are cracking down on riders left and right. The rest of the time we'll be riding through the Santa Monica mountains, and up into Ojai.

off lake forest road there is a bar that is a big biker meet up for the orange county area...then it turns into the santiogo canyon...short and not that twisty but good to get out of CA traffic and clear your mind.
