Of course you have all of the asses in there that don't ride or bike trying to ruin things..

Its high time to remove dirt bikes, mountain bikes and ATV's from the trails. They are dangerous to hikers and horseback riders. These vehicles have no place on narrow trails. Too many times I've had a pleasant hike interrupted when I've had to jump out of the way of some spandex clad mountain biker without warning. Feed them to the bears!

The only way to solve this - like all problems - is through compromise. Sure, every group will lose something, but the point that we're at now, we all stand to lose a lot more if we continue to argue and point fingers. Grow up people.
Bikes and ATVs are the only ones that pay to ride on the trails every year. This is how the trails are maintained. They cause most damage, so Ive never really had a problem with that. The problem is, if you tell them they cant ride there, they will loose all of that money. So do the hikers want to step up and start paying fees to hike the trails?

I have just started riding trails.
I do not want them to be taken away. I am finding that most places to ride need to be maintained by someone. Most places to hike do not.
Most places to ride require money to be given for the maintenance and motorcyclists pay this.
Most places to hike, do not.
Now, you can go into the RMNP and PAY a fee to get in, to hike, with no motorcycles allowed off road in your hiking path.
What is the problem? People either wanting to be where they should not be OR people not wanting to share.
Now, I am not sure that I would hike the GREEN trail at Rampart. I would get run over. But I also find myself a little disgusted when i am there that 4 wheelers are on the trials too. I have been good about sharing and I will continue to do so. You can't have separate hiking/motorcycle/4 wheeler trails all the time. If you do, you will be missing out on some really prime views, some awesome camping spots, and meeting cool people. I am not sure there is a clear solution to the over population of our trails. Well, there IS one. The death penalty for Californians living in Colorado

They're not all bad. Cali did give us:

The most important thing you can do as a CO trail rider is join COHVCO. They got our backs and membership is only $25 per year.

BTW, the state legislature tried to raid the state OHV fund to balance the budget last session. Thanks to COHVCO and their members, this hijack failed.
