    Check here:
    http://www.mra-racing.org/index.cfm?...&raceWEEKEND=2
Select the class and standing you want to see then click on the >> for lap times.

Last weeks HPR race stats aren't in yet.
Di Salvo had the lap record last I heard at 1.45 and change, don't think anyone broke that last weekend.

Thanks- I just found out that I was running about 2:15 yesterday at the track day. I have been curious to see where I would stack up with everyone. I know a race scenario is different... I just wanted to make sure I was not a danger to anyone out there if I did decide to give it a go next year. What class would a beginner on a Gixxer 1000 enter in?

The liter bike classes are pretty quick.
You can get someone's older 600 (98-02) already race preped and ready to ride for less than 3K.
Might not be as competitive as a newer bike but it's a great way to enter into racing on a budget.

    Re: lap times at HPR

Lots of the times from the first round were influenced by rain, I am also waiting to compare to the last round once they are up.

In the morning I was running around 2:10-2:12 and got down into the 2:05-2:07 range in the afternoon which I think would be ok to run in the GTU classes. HPR is such a big track that there is a lot of time to be made up, I think with a couple more days out there I might be able to get close to 2:00 which would probably mean mid-pack in a race scenario.

I am on a 749, a gixxer 1000 means you need to run with the big boys in the GTO classes, of course in the novice ranks it looks like Cromer is handing it to all of them regardless of class this year!

I think if you drop to 2:05 -2:07 you should be top 15 in Novice class

I have already committed to riding the 1000, but I think you are right about picking the wrong bike. It's an awful lot of work out there. But I am kind of a big dude... so... I thought it was the right thing to do. It will likely take a few classes at a school to lose 10 seconds Martin! I am a long ways off!

I am with you on the big dude part....I could probably lose a few seconds by dropping the doughnuts as well.

I know I need to get my fitness better and I could do lower times, since I am married this is about my only motivation to do so...

Man, I'm 210pounds 6'2" and I agree with the idea of riding big bike.
Last year I had R6 and that did not feel right, this year I ride 99 R1 and that thing fits me great

If you get under the 2 minute mark, you will be around top 5.

10 seconds is not huge when you first get on a track. Just get as much saddle time as possible. Track day this Sunday and also the following week. Check out the High Plains website. If you ever see a blue R6 #901, I would be happy to show you a fast line

Well, that R6 just did not feel right I like the feeling of biger bike under me. I feel more in control of the bike. It's not the power that makes the difference. I think
Now I'm working on scraping another 5s to fight with you Erik

Amen! Along with Casey and Ara.
