    Tire blemish or tire blow out?

    I just went to the garage and found an abnormality with my rear tire...I will give you a visual with something I can relate to it. It looks like a scab that has been peel up...and pussing out. However, the scab is part of the outer coating of the tire, and the puss is some tar substance. Was this a prior blow out covered up by some sealent? Is this typical for tires to act in this manner? I think I need a new rear tired and am quite leary to ride on it til it gets looked at. There are only 1700 miles on the tires.

    If I should replace it..it would be for a Honda CBR600RR '07....any leads for a new tire?

    Looks like road damage.....be careful, I probably wouldn't ride on it.

    Wouldn't risk riding on it either.
    Bike is replaceable, broken bones hurt forever!!!

    Looks like a old school "ghetto" plug. Hard to tell from the pics but thats what it looks like. If your in the springs I would be happy to take a look at it for you.

    I think I will have to come see you. Have an idea on what a tire would cost for a 07 Honda CBR600RR? I have a Dunlap on it now. I will hook you guys up with a case of ribs for helping out.     ^^^In that case I'll have to cut you a real good deal I have a number of brand new tires in stock. I have a Dunlop Qualifier rear with @ 2,000 miles on it as well if you want a reall hook up

    Turns out it was an old school "ghetto" plug. Looked like rope soaked in some type of red syrup

    Should I report that to Ft. Collins Motorsports? I bought the bike from them 2 months ago and put on 800 miles. They guys in the shop said the tires had a manufacturers date from 1994 and 1995. Isn't that a law suit waiting to happen?
