    Trail riding with the family

I finally got to do some trail riding and camping in Rampart Range with my family (Dad, brother, and son) last weekend. We didn't get to ride as much as I hoped we would. My son is still learning and I think was a little scared yet from his crash last fall. My brother did good, since he has only been riding for a few months. Even my dad did good, for being an old guy.

    Here's a few pics.

    The newer riders.

Dude, that is awesome. Where is that area at? I have only been on the main green trail so far but I am looking for some terrain JUST like that for the Pie to ride on.

Re: Trail riding with the family

That is Jackson Creek Road (OHV road) that goes by Jackson Creek Campground. It will connect with Watson Park Road and then into Dakan Road, eventually making a loop back to Rampart Range Road. Watson Park Road is a little bit rougher and steeper, but not too bad. I've been on Dakan road in the truck before, and it's not too bad either.

The only other trail we road was 649, Trout Creek, from the south end. The map shows it as a grren trail, but when we met 650 and turned around it was markas a blue trail. On the North end of 649, it is marked as a black trail. I rode this trail with two up, Blake was riding in front of me. I don't think I will ever try that again.

Jackson Creek Rd is the place to go if you want to avoid all the mayhem and the helmet-less quad-riding morons that normally congregate along powerline. Some great trails and terrain down there.

You have no idea what your missing. Power line is ok if your there during the week when no one else is, but Rampart has so much more to offer. Park in the jacksons creek area, and most all of the trails in that area are a blast.

Neither. I was riding the CR that is borrowed from a friend. The Yamaha XT is my Dad's.

    When and where?
I've been working on the KLX and might have it ready for the trails this weekend. Though I'd have to trailer it.

PM me your # and I can text you the location once we set up. The white GMC with the "weekender" toyhauler. Nate' will be there all weekend since she doesn't ride dirt (yet). But be warned she is armed
