Please help me raise money for Brain Injury Awareness

    Hey Everyone!

I'm participating in the Pikes Peak Challenge Hike For Brain Injury Awareness on Saturday, September 12, 2009. I will be hiking Barr Trail on 14,110 foot Pikes Peak. When I finish, I will have hiked 13 miles and 7,400 vertical feet to the summit to join other hikers and supporters in celebration of brain injury awareness and prevention.

This is the third year I will be participating in this great event held by the
    Brain Injury Association of Colorado (BIAC);

This year I am hiking in honor of Lily Griesan, a first grader at my daughter's school who in 2008 was hit by a car and suffered a traumatic brain injury. Additionally I am also honoring Kathy Bland who suffered a traumatic brain injury when she was thrown from a horse in 2002. These two people have made tremendous improvements with the help of the BIAC. Please help me raise funds or join me on the hike.

If you would like to support my effort you can donate directly to me on line at

    https://www.pikespeakchallenge.com/includes/donation_search.php?hiker=Yvonne%20Merkle

or if you prefer I can accept cash or check donations directly.

As always any amount helps and your donation is tax deductible.

    Thanks in advance,
    Yvonne

Just a little over a month left till I climb Pikes Peak to support Brain Injury awareness. So far I have raised over $250 in donations from kind people like you.

If you would like to support my effort you can do so at:

    https://www.pikespeakchallenge.com/includes/donation_search.php?hiker=Yvonne%20Merkle

As always any amount helps! I can also take donations directly if you are not comfortable doing so online.

I could also use some company on the hike so if you are up to hike 14 miles please feel free to join me.

    Thanks in advance!

    Merkle,
I know this is late, but I wanted to give you huge kudo's for doing the hike. I know Lily personally and her family very intimately. This really touch's me that you did this. I applaud you in many ways and thank you for your efforts. lily and the family are very appreciative I am sure.

Thanks so much! It was the least I could do for such a wonderful family and others who have suffered a brain injury.
