This isn't a great pic of her....but she is a quarter or so border collie. She spent the first seven months of her life in an abusive situation. It was obvious. We rescued her from death row from the humane society. The best dog ever!

Full day surgery next Wed. It's worth a try.

If you have the means, do whatever you can to save a family member. Money is easy to make, lifelong friends are not. Sorry about your doggie Pandora I hope everything turns out exactly is you want it to.

Re: My Dog Has Cancer? My Dog Has Cancer

So sorry to hear about fuzzy having cancer. Depending on the outcome of surgery CSU was spotlighted at one point for being one of the few places to offer a very successful canine cancer treatment that is in a pill (I think).
They have had very good luck with it but I am not certain of the cost, although given that they are still trying to further develop the treatment some of the costs might be covered by grants.
Good luck to your fur baby!

I feel the pain...We had to put down our Weimarner a few months ago and he was just under five years old (massive kidney failure <<i think he was posioned>>). We took some time off from having a dog, but we will be picking up our newest addition next week. He's a Vizsla coming from Nebraska.

Re: My Dog Has Cancer? My Dog Has Cancer

Our dog just had surgury for a tumor last November and the Vet was unable to get the margins in depth that they wanted. Found out it was cancerous and went to VRCC (Englewood). They recommended CSU due to location of tumor (on neck by throat and ear). They have some very specialized equipment. After a month of driving 85 Miles (one way) to CSU plus a lot of money the dog is doing great with a few side effects( missing hair and reverse sneezes). Best of luck to your dog.

The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."
