    Removing Muffler Packing

    I have a Yoshimura rs5 muffler and wanna remove the packing to make it louder. Has anyone done this? Is it hangover headache loud?

    JK, just remove it and see, worst case scenario you have an excuse to repack your exhaust...

    on my gixxer i removed the original packing out of my Yosh and repacked it with D&D packing. At idle it's not bad at all. Once you give it some gas it comes alive. It's not as loud and as raspy as a D&D exhaust, but a lil louder than a typical Yosh.


    Now if i can figure out away to quiet up the M4 on my Kawi i'd be a happy man. That shit is stupid loud.

    I had a Yosh RS5 with all of the packing blown out. It was loud. A bit too loud if you have any respect for your neighbors.
