Help! Code 46 on a 2005 R6. Wont start

So riding home i get a code 46 on my 2005 r6 and check engine light.

I pull over to a gas station and turn off the bike. I then try to restart it. No start. I did some googling on my iphone and it looks like an electrical problem possibly battery?
So i "pop" start it and get it home. (2miles) On the way home, all gauges turned off completely but bike stayed running. 2 sec later everything comes back and the engine light is off and everything is acting normal. I pull it in to the garage and turn off the bike, then out of curiosity i try to restart it and it does the same thing throwing the code and not starting.

Any ideas? Battery? I asked vatozone how much a battery would be since its sunday and everyone else is closed and tey quoted me like 300 dollars!

Fault Code 46 = Power supply to the FI system relay is not normal.

probable causes :

faulty battery
open or short circuit in wiring harness
connected condition of the sensor

I looked at all the wiring and it all looks fine. I also checked the two 40 amp fuze's from the power and they are fine. So its gotta be the battery right?

Should be easy to find with a multimeter. I got one you can borrow if you need to.

Thanks yea the battery looks like its only 49 bucks from motomart.com

Battery part # is GT9B-4 Ill go get one tomorrow and see if that fixes it.

Just drop a few bucks on a multi and check voltage across the batt

Then again... worst to worst you have a spare batt.

Hopefully the battery, easy fix. I had the same issue on one of my previous Yamahas. The only other issue besides a bad battery that I have seen personally is a charging system issue, bad stator is a possibility even though it dosent happen too often compared to bad batteries.

If you can take it to autozone or wherever you buy the new battery and have them test it out for curiousity purposes. If its low, then you know its either your battery or charging system. Battery should do it. As Zach said definitely pick up a multimeter if you can, not only is it useful but fun to play with as well, provides me hours of entertainment when sticking the leads into power outlets, just kidding on that one.

So i guess its not the battery because it did it again! Although now its at TFOG and they are fixing it. I guess its the regulator and rectifier. Bleh!
TFOG is taking care of me though so its cool.

Regulator rectifiers have gone bad on those before. Check that too. The battery over 3000 rpms should be getting 14.4 volts.
