I got a new sig quote out of that.

    Dirk
Formerly MRA #211 - High Precision Racing

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Hmm, here's an alternate view on the "Guns kept the Nazis from Invading Switzerland" theory from the Anti-Defamation League: http://www.adl.org/Braun/dim_14_1_neutrality_europe.asp.

Switzerland and Sweden kept the Nazis out mostly by playing along. I've got Norwegian ex-in-laws and there's still a pretty intense dislike of Swedes in that country for them allowing the Nazis to use their rail infrastructure to haul war supplies through Sweden to occupy Norway.
