'08 R1 rear axle nut size?

Anyone? Going to change the rear sprocket today and need to pick up the right size socket. Thanks.

Well the 07 GSXr is 32mm but you could take the one out of your tool kit and size it up.

Mine's a 32mm. I bet it's in that area. I have a 36mm socket that's from swapping the CV axle on a Chevy S10, so I doubt it's that big, or even a 34mm...

Wicky, mine is a 32mm as well. I would do as these other fine individuals suggested and start there....or walk into auto zone, grab a socket...tell them you need to make sure it fits they let me do that all the time. Maybe I just get away with it because I'm a chic. Who knows.

I do almost the same thing but i buy it and return it when i'm done i call it buy to rent program... But i would suggest to buy one and a breaker bar and keep it in your tools for when i need one next time.

Trying not to ride the bike until I get everything to change the rear sprocket out. Went to Faster on Tuesday to get it dyno'd and Bart noticed I had 18 teeth broken off the rear sprocket. Must have happened between then and going to the track last Thursday.

Snap is right! I'm keeping it +2, but going with a steel sprocket instead.

I had to dig a bit, nothing says 2008 = 32mm, but i found a tech article on http://www.r1messagenet.com through the forum and a few other things such as teh 07 manual, which shoudl be identical.

When I was working on your bike on Thursday all the teeth on the rear sprocket were intact...

Dont think the manual will say the size. But should be a 32mm.

You know you are correct i started thinking about it and even posted that i thought i was wrong. Then i deleted the post. I'm a little slow today. Not the first time i was wrong and i'm sure not the last. Sorry if it misled anyone.

Jeez that sounds crazy! Were you driving through a rock quarry?
