    Speeding Ticket!

I know this has probably been asked, but does anybody know of a "reasonable" lawyer that can get a ticket dropped, and not just reduced to 2 points?

I got a ticket for going 80 in a 65 on my ZRX and was passing an 18 wheeler at the time. My thoughts are that I should pass the truck as timely as possible since it is only a 2 lane rd. The officer apparently disagreed.

I've had tickets in the past, and went in front of the judge, only to have the ticket reduced to 2 points. I'm looking to get this ticket dropped since I can't spare the points on my license!

Anybody got any tips? Ideas? I've gotten tickets in other states that I've lived in and was able to plead to a different offense that carried no points, but were a higher fine.

    Grand County actually.

I got pulled over 3 miles from my home, which is only 10 miles outside of Kremmling.

AFAIK Grand Cty does not like speeders, especially ones within 2 pts of losing one's license.

Yeah, hwy 9 between silverthorne and kremmling is a very busy hwy with lots of accidents. 2 fatal accidents right in front of my house in the past 4 years.

I understand and I don't make excuses for what I did. I just want a solution that doesn't cost me any points on my license.

After hearing about one of the CSC brethren being slammed into the hoosegow last summer, I'd seriously look at getting a lawyer. Hot Sulphur Springs is the county seat so I'd begin there as any lawyer from there will most likely know the judge.

    So will the law.

Unfortunately, "your thoughts" are wrong on this one. Passing does not give you a legal excuse to break the speed limit. A hard nosed judge may decide to make that point extremely clear to you, especially if he's in a bad mood. Any time/money spent on a lawyer will be a waste, in my opinion. I'd pay early, take the 2-points, and chock it up as a lesson learned.
