    GP shifting on 07 GSX-r 750

Hey all. I finally found on the gixxer.com site how to invert my shifting. However I need to lengthen the shift rod. Anyone know how to do that?

It will not allow me to get into 6th gear. A couple guys on the gixxer.com site had the same issue and said that lengthening it a little bit solved the problem. However, still have not heard back from them on how to do it. And since I want to run the track on sunday I need a couple days to get use to it again you know?

Where are you located at? I have done this on a few GSXR's of that year and have not had a single issue. I have no problems helping you get this done.

Both Mike and Steve are correct. There is no need to "lengthen" the shift rod to change the bike over to GP shift

My guess is the people on Gixxer.com did not reinstall the shift "knuckle" at the proper angle

Not familiar with the 07, but when I moved the rearsets on my 03, i had to lengthen the shift rod. Just flipping it to GP should not have made this necessary tho...

but it is relativley easy to do with a 6mm stud and a 6mm all thread connector(in my case, the size was 6mm). Just add them to the right hand threaded end of the shift rod. This should make do, but I would suggest an extended shift rod for a permenant solution. But as stated above, you shouldn't need it. try rotating the "knuckle" a spline or so down.

And FWIW, in my experience only a handful of the folks over at gixxer.com have a clue about anything...the other 3 billion people are simple, monkey see-monkey do gixxer squids

good luck, and see you sunday

I have been so hesitant to do this. After riding for 5 years regular, I am deathly afraid of a 12 grand WOT downshift.
