National Parks - Americas Best Idea

Anyone else been watching this series on PBS?

It has got to be one of the best series I have ever seen. Better than Planet Earth, IMO.

    It inspires deep patriotism.

    Makes me proud.

And it is education that does not hurt my head! I am REALLY into this series. Tonight is the final part. I highly suggest that you and your family check it out. You will want to visit every single park by the time you are finished with it.

Makes me want to buy the national parks pass rather than the RMNP pass.

Did you know that both Mesa Verde and RMNP made the top 25 most endangered park list?

Growing up about 30min from Yosemite gave me a deep appreciation for them. My only desire would be to truly leave them wild places. Massive traffic jams and throngs of camera totting gawkers can demolish even the most pristine settings.

Checked out some of it... loved the footage of a 1920's couple and their park visits, one being at Mesa Verde... and when they featured photographer, Quang-Tuan (QT) Luong, who has visited all 58 parks - here's his perspective on the film: The Terra Galleria Blog – QT Luong

    Buwahahahaha!!!

But, it will have to be the '89 CBR, the '09 is out of commission at the moment... when Dirk and I were out riding last weekend, her radiator met with some sort of road hazard, perhaps a rock, dunno... hole in radiator, not good.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."
