Yeah, buffoonery like that and the cheering crowds behind it are a big reason why this country is in the sad shape it is in.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Do not put off living the life you dream of. Next year may never come. If we are always waiting for something to change...
Retirement, the kids to leave home, the weather or the economy, that's not living. That's waiting!
Waiting will only leaves us with unrealized dreams and empty wishes.

That guy is a dumbass. It's politicians like that that run the country into the ground. He didn't have one constructive thing to say during his time on the floor, just more hot air and vitriol to further drive a wedge in the House. What a waste of air and space.
By the way, I'm not a Neo-Con or an Uber-Lib.
Oh, I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?

That guy is smarter than you think. He is now on every talk show there is and has now flipped the debate from defense to offense. Now you finally have republicans offering some kind of something. Better then going on the floor of the house talking about death panels and and Obama killing your grandma. Or rambling a bunch of numbers off that most people sleep through. I wish more dems would act like he did, it forces the issue.
I really don't think it forces the issue at all. Most of them(people in Congress, not a particular party) are just a bunch of monkeys happily eating their bananas, and not doing a damn thing. Nothing is going to change that, except booting them out.
And everyone pointing fingers at the "other" side does absolutely no good at all. Everytime you, or anyone, says the dems did this, the repubs did that, it just further cements the division that is already there. And nothingness will continue to be the status quo. We won't move forward, and actually get something done, until the finger pointing stops.
Your grammar makes my head hurt.

the intelligent citizens will do just that,
**In November of 2010 the entire House of Representatives
will stand for re-election; all 435 of them. One third of the Senate, a total of 33 of them, will also
stand for re-election. Vote every incumbent out.

Exactly. I fail to see how this bickering accomplishes anything. It's turned into some "win or lose" situation to these clowns, not a "work towards a solution" situation. They don't realize, or don't care (both sides of the aisle) that they are simply playing with our lives and futures. Too bad these politicians don't really represent us, and only serve to incite bitterness among the masses. I've had enough negativity for a lifetime in the past 6 or 7 years.
I agree, vote out the incumbents (if only that would actually happen), we need as fresh a slate as we can get.
I think that going from defense to offense can be a valid strategy and one often employed by both sides of the aisle. However, if you're going to go from defense to offense, at least try to make a credible, tactical move. This Congressman's sophomoric shenanigans (yes, shenanigans), was nothing more than thumbing his nose at his opposition. No points of contention were addressed, no valid arguments offered up, no rebuttal to prior Republican assertions were made. This isn't law making, this is the middle school hallway fight that has become the House of Representatives.

ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ
"So live your life so the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their views, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide."
"Finish today what others won't, so you can achieve tomorrow what others can't."
That was sick...
Liberty never came from government. The history of liberty is a history of resistance. The history of liberty is a history of limitations of government power, not the increase of it. Woodrow Wilson, September 9th, 1912
