"Get it out of the way" was just me being a bit flippant for public consumption in response to that adage that there are those who have crashed and those who will. In truth, this was a wake-up call that, even though I ride nearly every day, have had terrific instruction and friendly tutoring, learned alot and progressed rapidly, I am still a noob, and may be for awhile yet. And will ride accordingly.

So...what happened? readers digest version or war and peace version.
Whatdja learn?
I'm glad you came out unscathed, Ann. Yes, it could have been a lot worse.
Ask me about my crashes, but more importantly figure out what it was that made you biff it. I crashed more than once and it was always in Fall. Last year, I broke the cycle (still knocking on wood) because a friend of mine took me to dinner and asked all the tough questions. After talking for about an hour, we were able to finally get to the hard truth. It was sobering and yet I was glad to finally get to the bottom of my crashes.
Either way...that bike looks like it took a beating...so I will say it again...so glad you are here to write about it.

If you love something, set it free. If it comes back to you, you probably high sided.
Sorry to see that, but glad you're ok. Yes, it happens to most of us, and a child doesn't learn to walk without falling down, so we don't usually learn to ride without falling off.
Hope you get it all straightened out, and back in the saddle soon!
P.S. I'd as well like to hear what happened if you can remember and feel like telling the story. I see a HUGE dent in the front rim.

"...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Glad to hear you made it through with no serious injuries, from the look of the bike, it could have been much different. Bikes can be replaced, people cannot. Bummer though, it was a sweet bike.....
Thanks, Jim

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."
--Thomas Jefferson
Glad you're alright! Looks like it could've been much worse.

Be polite. Be professional. But be prepared to kill everyone you meet.

Glad to hear your ok! What caused the crash?
Glad you're ok.
I agree that talking about the cause is probably a worthwhile exercise. May help you avoid repeating a mistake. And it may help someone else not make the same one. So please, explain the situation a little more...

too much spur in the flank? too heavy handed on the reins? forgot to tighten the cinch? too much grain and she's feeling frisky in the cool weather?

I know what it was. She saw a mouse.

Oh, puhleeze.
I am truly still trying to piece it together. I cannot remember what it was but something distracted me (and it was NOT a mouse), I looked up and that was probably that. Luckily we weren't going fast as we were just heading out of Nederland. The bike took the worst of it because of the large rocks it hit (and it is well and truly totaled) -- I have a lovely bruise on one thigh and my upper body is a bit sore when I laugh (really), there are some scratches on my helmet and that's about it. I realize how extremely fortunate I am.
But back up on that horse: FZ6R ver. 2.0 should be up and running next Friday.
