    Sumo Routes

Post your fav sumo routes here.

I checked out a couple roads today off Golden Gate Canyon Rd. CO Rd 57/White Ranch is about 3 miles up the canyon and loops back around to GG Rd. Rockin’ pavement for 3 mi then broken pavement/gravel for a couple miles, and back to good pavement for 5. Head back to town on GG and take Robinson Hill Rd/Centennial Cone to Douglas Mtn, which drops you on Hwy 119 after 7 miles of mostly broken pavement/gravel. 63 mile ride from Lakewood.

I'm with Matty as I'm leaving tomorrow for work. But the Wellington lake loop is a blast. Magnolia off of boulder canyon is fun.

If the weather holds, I’ll try a backward variation of that next week.....looping back around on Foxton so I can get to work by 4.

    Subscribed.

I'm moving to Denver this weekend, and I have all next week off, so I might have to take the WR out for a spin to explore.

No, just some scenic dirt roads with rockin' pave on the way there.

    Re: Sumo Routes

Found another good sumo route in Golden Gate today. Mtn Base Rd from Kriley Pond is paved, very twisty and 19% grade! It will take you to Gap Rd (very good dirt road), which runs from Hwy 72 to 119. I rode the nine miles back down to Coal Creek Canyon. The road is Twin Spruce from the canyon (‘bout 10 miles up). Total ride was 67 mi. from Lakewood.
