^^When it snows, cars breakdown into two categories:

    - Wussy baby wuss suck - the ones going 10 mph below a reasonable speed for their vehicle & the conditions

    - Big balls no brain look at my giant penis extension - the more snow, that faster I'll go! wait, what's this stopping thing all abou-crash.

Not with Government Property, and it would help if it was warmer and there was more air.

You're willing to sweep a path on a 1/2 mile driveway to get out.

And that's even a NICE bike!
It wouldn't be much of a pic if it was a DRZ...
    Quite impressive.

Jim, I was playing around with some image HDR/tonemapping techniques, making the pic almost look like one that was painted. It kinda messed with the colors a bit, making dirt (and shadows) appear red.

Hey, found another image. This one isn't tonemapped...

This is the reward when the end of the driveway is reached. Pavement is about 1/4 mile away. Dropped a bike back in '98 when I reckoned if the tire was about 6" wide, that's how wide I needed to make a path. Haven't dropped a bike since. Dang, I ride a bunch at 8,800 feet every winter. Just be smooooooth. The wintertime practice, as does point and shoot through sand, does wonders for summertime and track riding.

Yeah, the Beemer just didn't look right. You need a dual-sport.

Yeah, maybe this Beemer. This one gets the duty when things are more sketchy. Jim... Will be bringing this in for tires again in the spring.

You might be a winter rider if...

... you are more afraid of the oily-crap that CDOT puts down on the roads than the actual snow that its supposed to protect you from.

There is so much of that stuff at the interchange of I70 and E470 that I actually dread that intersection.

On a better note, that stuff is the only thing that allows a DRZ to do a rolling burnout through all 5 gears.

    Yes I did.

    Winter officially begins today...

    So who rode?

The weather site says 23 right now, I don't want to think about the wind chill when I rode to work this morning

Just when I hit my exit this morning, I was right at the point of either hoping I was done soon, or hoping that I had another 5 miles to go so my legs would just have gotten completely numb

    Absolutely.
    18 miles at 5:30 am.
    Beautiful weather.

For some reason, people have been traveling SLOW the past two mornings.
Luckily I'm packing 33hp of passing fury.

I'm looking forward to reduced traffic the next couple of days.

Instead of building a sidecar from scratch, I was pondering the idea of putting a 4-wheeler's swing-arm on my bike to make a trike for the BAD days.

It won't look any goofier than some of those VW trikes that are running around.
Plus... maybe I can start a 3-wheeled supermoto class: with only one entrant, I'm SURE to get a trophy!

Anyone have a Suzuki LTZ400 laying around that I can take some measurements from?

I say you build outriggers that attach where the footpegs connect and have a small shock that connects to the frame. That way of you loose traction, you'll just slide a bit without falling over. . .
