    I'm in a similar boat. I'm only about 9 minutes away from the office, but that includes 2 exits on 470 so i've gotta debate if I wanna spend more time putting on & taking off gear than it will take to get to work, or if I wanna be completely numb from the waist down for the first 20 minutes of my workday

    Call me crazy, but I haven't stopped riding this year. Did have a little drift going on the R1150RT on the way in a couple weeks back. And I do own my body weight in gear and Do own a Ural (the DNEPR) complete with machine gun mounts. I even rode the race bike into work on halloween. brrr. no heated grips on that bike.

    I already rode from east jeebus Aurora to Spyderco to pick up some special orders to the shop, then gonna ride home this evening. May have to install grip heaters, as the heated gloves couldn't quite keep up this morning. Either that or do some cardio so the circulation in my hands gets better....

    --you know your a winter rider if you stick your hands in your exhaust stream to warm them up at pullovers.
    --you have a thermometer on your bike just so u can see the windchill effect happen
