    Android SMS

For those of you using android OS (if it matters, on Droid X or HTC EVO) - is there any way to filter SMS into folders, or set certain messages (or all messages) to alert over and over?

I have to replace my pager for work, and have those as some of my options. I do not want a crapberry, but these look promising if I can get the SMS part figured out. Basically I need it for oncall work, and cannot have a one-beep-and-it's-done SMS, I need it to get my attention. I'm even open to the idea of using a 3rd party app if one exists to do what I'm after.

Not sure about folders but I believe the Handcent SMS app will allow you to set repeat notifications. As far as I know the stock SMS app will not repeat (on my Hero anyway)

There are also some notification repeat apps out there but I have no idea how good they work?

Handcent will allow reminders and you can set frequency, the texts are placed in conversation threads automatically, no folder creation I could find with a quick look.

Folders aren't a hard requirement if it will thread them. Can I go back and delete an entire thread at once, or select multiple messages quickly? If we get an alert storm it can suck to do them one at a time.

you can delete a whole thread at once or all threads or a certain number of threads in the handcent. It puts all the texts from the same number in one thread...I think putting them into folders would actaually be harder to manage.

My samsung galaxy's messaging app handles this extermely well. I'm not sure how different it is from other flavors of android.
