    ABATE of Colorado Statewide Tour

Thanks to those CSC members that helped us out with some stops. The passport books can be purchased online at www.abateofcolo.org. I have listed the basics below so you know if you have any interest.

    Rules:

    Book fee is $15.00
1.The release form must be signed prior to participating on the Tour
    2. Fill out the top of this page with your signature and date at the time of purchase.
    3. Participants must be 21 years of age, or be accompanied in a manner which allows them to legally enter establishments which comprise this Tour.
    4. Motorcycles or cars may participate in this Tour.
    5. Books for this Tour may be purchased from December 31, 2010 thru May 31st 2011.
    6. Business establishment stops you are required to either make a purchase for a time/date stamped receipt or pick up a business card or brochure. Parks/Passes/Monuments you must have your picture taken in front of the sign with this passport in hand to qualify as a legitimate stop.
    7. All receipts and photos must be attached or included in the envelope with your passport book.
    8. 1 passport per person.
When you turn in your passport book tickets will be assigned with your name on them. For every 5 stops you complete 1 ticket with your name will be placed in the drawing. We have a total of 120 stops. If you complete all of the stops you will be assigned 24 tickets. You will have 24 chances to win the Grand Prize. Only 1 prize per participant will be given. The more stops you complete the more chances you have to win.
    Grand Prize: $1000

    2nd Prize $ 700

    3rd Prize $ 400

    4th Prize $ 200

All participants’ names will be entered in a drawing for gift certificates, lodging, and door prizes. A total of $5000 in cash & prizes! Winners will be announced December 31st, 2011 at the Last Brass Monkey Run. The establishments and sights listed in this passport have agreed to participate in the ABATE of Colorado Statewide Tour. The book is divided into 6 regions. Completed passport books must be returned to the ABATE of Colorado office, or an Officer of ABATE no later than December 15th 2011. All others will be disqualified. You may mail your passport to the office as well.

Clearly bars are involved in order to get the Harley contingent to participate.

Well with the 21 age limit I'm guessing biker bars.

Business establishment stops you are required to either make a purchase for a time/date stamped receipt or pick up a business card or brochure. Parks/Passes/Monuments
ok.. parks, passes, and monuments on the way to biker bars.

Re: ABATE of Colorado Statewide Tour

Ok, so I wasn't the only one thinking it.

But in all seriousness, I'm sure it's not the parks and monuments ponying up sponsorship/prize money for the contest.

If you don't have an escort to enter the sandwich establishments that happen to serve liquor, hopefully there are plenty of other sites (parks/monuments).

Or maybe you can take your picture out front with the passport in hand. Just don't think because you are participating that you can legally enter bars.

Tie for the number of CHANCES to win the drawing. If you read the rules; for every 5 sites, your name is entered once into the hat for the drawing to win the prize.

I could go out and visit only 5 of the 120 places in the booklet, get entered once, and win the grand prize.

I noticed that too, but the stops can't all be gay bars, I mean "biker" bars, right?

Right, right, right, I saw that after posting. However if I remember correctly, the original feeler posted about the contest stated that only those with the highest stops would be entered to win.

Don't remember that, but if that was true, they must have realized how gay that would be

LOL whatever the sexual preference of the contest, the current rules are all that matter.

Re: ABATE of Colorado Statewide Tour

    Examples of stops:
Buena Vista - Bongo Billy's Cafe
    Denver - Comfort Cafe
Estes Park - St Malo Statue & Rocky Mountain National Park
    Wetmore - Bishop's Castle
    Crested Butte - Entrance Park
    Gateway - Gateway Auto Museum
    Rifle - Rifle Falls
Burlington - Kit Carson County Carousel
    Denver - Mickey's Steak House
    Aurora - The Frontier Club
    Pueblo - MRA race
That is just a few of the stops. Yes the books will be available for sale at the Swap Meet at the ABATE/MRA booth. They will be for sale at most ABATE events until May 31st. All of the bars on the Tour allow under 21 until 9 PM. Yes, there are several bars as stops and not to attract the Harley riders, they were the most interested in purchasing a sponsorship. Most of the bars are bar-restaurants. I think there are only maybe 4 that aren't. That info is included in the legend inside the book. Age restrictions are in place due to insurance reasons. Since this is the first year doing this Tour, it was a hard sell for sponsorships. Bars are the easiest to obtain sponsorships and they are motorcyclist friendly. No one says you have to drink, they all sell coffee and soda pop as well. The sponsorships are our prize money. We have worked really hard to get awaqy from poker runs and such at bars, but many times they are the only places that welcome us. This is our first year doing this, it may not be perfect, but we will learn for next year what to change. I think I have answered the questions presented here. If I can answer any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks, Terry. If I'm racing in Pueblo, I'm assuming that would count, correct?
