    Question Tree removal contractors

Does anyone have a recommendation on a Colo Spgs business to use for tree removal? Questions I should be asking when they give me the estimates?

A glance at www.pprbd.org doesn't show me any licensees for tree service, so I'm not sure if I'm looking at the right site, or if tree service companies do not need to be licensed...

Thanks in advance for the help!

Do you want it cut down, or removed completely, ie. stump removal as well?

I had a guy cut down a tree from the corner of my yard because it was close to the shed and the branches reached across my neighbors yards on all sides. He did an awesome job and his price was cheaper than other companies. I am not sure about the license, but make sure they are insured.

The guy that cut my tree was named Elvis.

Also, depending on the size of the tree and what is around it, you could possibly bribe a club member or two with beer..........

    p.s. I have a chainsaw.......

Thanks for the info, dallas! I need both trimming AND removing, but I'll give Elvis a call for more info at least.

But I will let you know if my yard needs you and your chainsaw sometime, and yes, beer would be provided.

    guessinthe2000: sent you PM.

FYI. I found something on the City Clerk's page regarding licensing for tree service (and one could probably navigate around for other types of contracting).

    Avoid Tall Timbers.

1st experience - had a maple pruned. Explicitly directed they leave the wood for my neighbor. No wood left (1/2 cord or so)

2nd experience - Spruce removal. My other neighbor also requested they grind a stump. They charged both of us for the stump grind.

Myself and my neighbors both agree we will not use them again.

    Re: Tree removal contractors

Appreciate the warning, httc84. I've got 3 different tree peeps coming over to give me an estimate, so hopefully at least one will be fair:
    - King's Tree Service
    - Tom's Tree Service (thanks to a colleague)
    - AAAA Healthy Tree (thanks to dallas)
