Did you go to court for the careless driving? If so, really try to get that reduced. It'll jack your insurance rates up.

I'm just paying the ticket, then it's reduced automatically and seeing as how I'm not getting something like the Viper Jason mentioned, I don't think I'll get too hosed on insurance (one plus of being a FOG).

It may be different for you, but I've known a few people who got a careless ticket over 30 y/o and their ins doubled. May want to check with your ins agent. Not trying to tell you what to do, just food for thought. GL!
