Fun day. Scared myself once with the front tire sliding out no thanks to the run off and sand in that shady ass corner near coal creek. Spencer parked the SV in the snow at one point but was still in one piece thankfully and got going again.

Thanks for putting this together Zach, It was nice to get out and twist the wrist a bit.
Coal Creek kinda sucked for getting any groove on, but all in all a decent ride and pretty darn good weather.
Freakin' hella traffic on NB 25 around Alameda, luckily we were SB but it still jammed us up.

Was wondering why you guys took 6, but it was probably quicker than c470. Nice to meet some new faces. Sorry that SV took an ass and elbow ride into the snow.

I ended up going down I-70 and cutting through downtown to avoid I-25 between 70 and Sante Fe. It was a straight up parking lot out there.

Yeah, good ride guys. Spencer (the sv guy), is ok which is the important thing. Good thing there was snow.

    Re: Wednesderp 3/16

In the future anyone is in this position, or if you are planing on attending a ride and perhaps get delayed, they should probably post it or @ minimum PM/text/call someone on the ride. I always check the CSC and email/text/VM before taking off from the meeting spot. Sorry you missed out Steve.

I would like to add one thing to this since the incident made it to the forum. It is very early in the season therefore road conditions are sketchy in places and although the guys up front in this ride were putting on a fairly decent pace at times, we weren't pushing our limits, but from watching in my mirror I did notice some mishaps behind us.
Just because the guys in front are comfortable with the spirited pace, the people in the group following should not feel they need to ride at that pace or even close to it if they are not confident. We always try and keep track of everyone, once in a while someone does get separated from the group and for as much as we try to not let this happen it can happen, but it is better to make your way home alone than to wad your bike up.
I usually ride alone or in a group that I know so the pre ride talks are often not necessary, and I tend to forget about it when I am in an unfamiliar group (like yesterday).

Ride your own ride and come home in 1 piece.

    /\ This.

I knew right from the start it was a bad idea to be second in line. lol Next time I'll start near the back and work my way to a position I feel good at. I was good after you 3 took the lead.

Kim pointed out that yesterday makes the third group ride in a row that the person behind me has gone down. I had no idea that the 'oil spray' kit I bought from Acme Spy Supply really worked that well...
