    AlpineStars 2 piece suits.

Has anybody here ever worn any A* 2 piece track suits? I just ordered the GP Pro 2 piece in a size 48 US and the jacket fit like a glove, it was perfect, but then then pants easily could have accomodated two people.

I had my measurements taken and found that I'm more of a 42 in the chest. and according to A* size charts, this means a size 44 US, but it assumes a 36" inseam, when I'm a 32-33 at best.

Just FYI, I'm about 185 lbs, 5'11.5', have a 42-42.5 in chest, 33 inch waist, 33 inch inseam, and 39" around the hips.

Am I just doomed to never fit into one of these things? Anybody with a similar build have any luck with full 1 or 2 piece track suits? Can I possibly get the pants tightened a little after the fact? Do I have to settle for a pant/jacket combination or do I need to starve myself and never exercise for the next six months to get my chest size to match up to my hip size?

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

I wear 32" inseam in jeans, and I would think I would want a 30" inseam for leather pants to accommodate boots. That's crazy the default is 36".

Measurements are different for every make. I can't remember who runs tight and tall and who runs big. But my advice is goto Performance Cycle and try on what they have hanging on the racks.

Performance Cycle in Denver? I'm in the Springs and don't get up that way much. Do they have a lot of full suits in stock?

Yeah, I noticed your location after submitting my post. It's getting warm though, so a nice ride up North can't be all that bad.

Sadly, my bike is in Nevada, had to leave it there during my previous deployment (Just got back 2 weeks ago), so my current dilemna is that I'm trying to buy all new gear before I pick it up April 9th.

Did you say you have a 42" chest, but the 48US jacket fits you like a glove? I have a 47.5" chest and I wear a 46US jacket. You should be swimming in the jacket lol.

The pants aren't all the same length, iirc. I think the length goes by the waist size. The smaller-waisted pants have 34" or 32" inseams. According to their size chart, you should wear a 32 or 34 pants.

ETA: You can always have the pants tailored to fit your inseam, assuming you get the right size waist.

Are you measuring below or above your arms? I'm a 47 if I measure around the arms, and I might honestly be doing this whole thing wrong, but 47" to me sounds pretty big, especially if you fit a 46" A* jacket, because from what I've seen these things run rather small.

No, I measure under my arms and the 46 still fits me fine. My Alpinestars race suits are either 46 or 48 and my RS Taichi suit is a 48. The jackets are cut differently than suits.

Are you sure you didn't mean 48 EU?

I'm beginning to see that, I might just go for the Tech 1-R jacket and Track Pants, provided I can get them to zip around.

That's a good idea. A majority of A* jackets have the 8" and the 360º zipper and the zipper "tread" will always match the A* pants' zipper. If you buy Teknic pants, the zipper tooth pattern will be off and you'll need to swap either the jacket or the pants zipper.

I have an A-Stars SP-1 (I think it was) size 50US/60 EU 2-pc suit I've worn for about 5 years now, and love it. I'm 6'1-215 lbs, kinda barrel chested and long limbed (hey, like a monkey!) and it fits perfectly. I lucked out, because that's the largest size they made. There are places that will custom tailor to your fit, Z leathers in SoCal used to make really nice stuff, and not too much more than an off-the-rack. Luckily for you, the pants are too big, and any quality leathers repair shop could probably resize them for you. Good luck!

It's really annoying that companies automatically increase waist and belly/chest sizes for your height. Being 6'2 and 185 is a pain in the ass when trying to find gear that fits.

Being 5'10", 210, with a 47" chest isn't any easier. The arms are too tight, the waist is too large, and the length is always off.

Nice to see you found one that fits! We're both going to have white suits... hmm. Hey what helmet do you have?

Try finding gear for a 5'3", 38DD chest, 34" waist and a 29' inseam lol. Just take the pants to a leather shop and they can fix them for you.

Being 6'1"-215lbs with 42" ballz don't make it any easier either.......

Well, that'd be normal, wouldn't it? They can always make you a custom size for extra $$. I'd like to think they'd make suits by height/ inseam/arm length, and maybe have sm/med/lg body type for every length, but, I really doubt they'd do that. I always have a hell of a time finding long sleeve dress shirts that fit. When i can find one for my ape-like long arms, and 18" neck, it always comes with, like, a 42" waist. But, I have to say, though my suit is a touch tight in the forearms (what can I say, I'm single!) and the calves, otherwise it fits perfectly. couldn't ask for a more proper fit. I LOVE it, have had it about 5 years now, and have been wearing it almost every time I ride now.

Nice gear man! LOVE mine. Hope you don't regret having the 1-pc vs. the 2-pc on long rides though. I know I love the freedom of zipping of the jacket when I'm walking around in the summer or have to stop mid-ride to take an emergency dump (happened only once thank God!).

If this is your first suit, you'll love the new feeling of protection.
