Actually the other way around, you have to break a riveted chain, whereas the clip master comes apart easier and is reusable.

I dip the cleaning brush in it and scrub away, then use shop towels to remove excess; then lube (the chain not me).

And thank god for that.....it keeps things entertaining.

That being said, the DID site used to recommend using Kerosense to clean as well as the back of the box that the chain comes in. I've used the stuff for years without issue and it cleans effectively, and I've never had an o-ring let go because of it.

I have been using Honda's HP lube for post cleaning and been pleased with it as well because it goes on and then the liquid evaporates off leaving a dry film of lubricant (teflon I think). Again, been using it for years without any issues.

Do you have www in the URL? like www.cosportbikeclub.org vs cosportbikeclub.org. There's cookie issues if you don't have the www in there.

I put WD 40 on my tires when the cords start showing, take a couple of shots of Kerosene and then light my farts as I wheelie down I-25 at 275 mph

I went to a tire seminar last week and still can't answer the inevitable upcoming noob thread, "what's the best tire"

    Re: Chain maintenance info:

If you put a scott oiler on your street bike you are a huge faggot.

I guess the prices have come down substantially from what I remember them being, but still pretty unnecessary.

The '86 I just bought has one on it but it's missing the injector. I'm probably going to just take it off.

Am sport touring on a VFR. Also severely allergic to chain maintenance. Planning a 2000mile round trip back to MN and WI in the next couple weeks.

Would like to have one on my DR and the VFR.
