    2011 F-150 Twin Turbo V6!

Has anybody driven or taken a look at the new F-150?!

The new V6 Ecoboost motor is the BUSINESS. 11,300 lb towing capacity and 22 mpg.

    365 hp at 5000 rpms

    420 tq at 2500 rpms!!

If I had the money, this truck would be the ultimate colorado machine.

I got to drive this truck at the Denver auto show, it was quite nice. Lots of power, esp. down low, where you need it for towing. I couldn't feel any turbo lag at all.

I went and test drove one recently. Great vehicle! Amazing power and lots of torque down low. If I needed a full size daily truck I would buy it. Seems like it would be faster than a couple stock duramax and cummins full size trucks. Wonder how well the ecoboost v6 will take to mods? Nevermind....

If i was in the market for a new truck I would very seriously consider it. For comparison my 99 F250SD has almost twice the engine - 6.8 V10 - 3.5 V6 yet only has 900 lbs more towing, 15 lbs more payload and significantly less HP stock - 275 vs 365. I have done enough work that the sea level HP is now probably comparable but turbos dont lose at altitude...

I've yet to hear anything bad about the truck/motor. Heard they lay down a pretty respectable 1/4 time too...cause that's why you buy a truck

I would think the V8's might have more problems, but it will remain to be seen. What is amazing is that it still runs a smaller compression than the V8. I really can't find anything wrong with this motor. According to Ford, the turbo's are super conservative and the block can easily handle over 450 hp and 600 tq. The tranny's fail before the motor.

If you google it, Ford put a randomly selected ecoboost through hell, and then opened it up in front of a live audience at the north american auto show, which was apparently in perfect condition.

Have you seen the video of the Lincoln MKV with the ecoboots putting down a 13.9 @111 mph?

This engine has crazy potential. In a truck I think it is the perfect engine.

It's got to have less compression than a NA V8...it's turbo. Or am I missing something here?

    Looks pretty sweet!

Yep, and Explorers and all the vehicles will get that engine (well except the econo lines for obvious reasons).

I tested a SHO, and there was no Turbo lag, it got up and went for the weight of the vehicle. No wheel spin having AWD...yep Ford is doing it right, about time. Now they just need to toss out the V8 int he Mustang and put in a warmed up ecoBoost engine and call it a day.

I would hope it would be, considering most trucks a Duramax or Cummins are in tend to weight anywhere from 8000lbs to 9500lbs. 1/2 tons are lucky to tip the scales around 6000. Then take into consideration diesels aren't for drag racing(though some guys use them for that). They're meant for pulling. Saddle 15000lbs behind a diesel powered truck and a gas powered truck and you'll find out which one sucks hind tit in a real hurry.

That being said, this new F150 looks to be very stout and it achieves those numbers with just a V6. It's really going to make the 1/2 contingent a mess that's for sure.
