I have decals on all my bikes, but then again, those decals allow me to get to work with little to no hassle.

^^ I'm glad BAFB doesn't require those stickers anymore...

Ft. Carson still does and they are such a pain in the ass to get, then they still mess with you from time to time either coming in and sometimes leaving.

Woot!!!!!!!!! Yes! Someone that thinks like me! Or at least has the same pet peeve I do.

Back in '86 I bought the first GSX-R750, I also had an '88...

I quit riding for a few years and got back into riding in '96 and went to a Suzuki dealer looking for a GSX-R... When the guy called it a "Gixxer". I said a what?

I asked him how he got Gixxer out of GSX-R750. He said people called them that. I thought its weird that someone would call it a "Gixxer". I never heard of a "silent S". And working in the Defense Industry, I'm used to acronyms and the artificial creation of such.

So, I asked the guy; "Is the Honda CBR600 now called the "Cibber""? He said No. Is the YZF750 called the "Yizzif"...again "No".

So I thought it odd that someone would call it a "Gixxer". Wish I knew where that originated. I'd like to slap the person that coined that or started that. Must have been some Elementary School drop-out....

Sorry for the rant, I'm done. I've also thrown away the rest of my Rockstar Energy drink....

I'm trying to think of something apropos...

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

A silent "S" is pronounced "TH". You've been doing it this whole time and didn't realize it????

I bought my '86 1100 new, and it wasn't until probably the mid-'90's that I heard the term "Gixxer".

...or "Mercs", although that used to mean Mercury instead of Mercedes.

Im amazed at how this thread started as "stickers on bikes, discuss" to arguing over bike acronyms and their correct enunciation.
