    525 chain local

hey guys, I need to buy a new 525 chain, and would like to get it locally, but everywhere i call want a crazy amount for a chain... is it just me or did they sky rocket the past few years.... cheapest chain i can find is 130 for an x-ring from rockey mountain kawasaki.. bikemaster brand... (supposed to be made in japan, so maybe a DID chain???)

anyway was just trying to see what everyone's opinion is when it comes to chains.

i found an EK SRX X-ring chain for $97 shipped. anyone heard good or bad things with the ek chains?

Why does a 2006 need a new chain?

On my CBR F3, I bought a RK chain and sprocket set (upgraded to 520) and I paid $150 for it including shipping. It has been a great chain for me. I also bought a new 525 chain for my 900RR and I got it from D2 Moto (online) and it was right about $50 shipped, and I haven't had a single problem with it yet. Not sure of the brand though....

    Re: 525 chain local

i went ahead and bought this chain

    http://www.kneedraggers.com/product/...Chain-525-Size

I had already cut off my chain because it just seemed dangerous... it had about 1.5" of play, yes i mean play in the chain. it was totally screwed. on most of the links i can push em together and pull em apart about 1/8+"

also got the screw type link since i dont know anyone that has a chain tool, i plan on just grinding off the head of the pin and pushing it through to make it smaller... unless someone has a chain tool i can use? lol

    Re: 525 chain local

I have about 1000 miles on it and I haven't had to adjust it at all yet, just regular maint (cleaning and lubing). I was really happy with the purchase and have since ordered many other parts through D2 moto as well.
