    Stolen 2003 R1??

Likely stolen, I contacted the seller and he says there is no title. Asked for VIN number, and no response:

Email I have from him is anthony Mowry [ant.mowry21@gmail.com]

    I have more pics.

He's not a scammer either, likely stolen, but it does say he has gear.

Here's a photo. And he did give me (a bogus) VIN report.

Go see it and take your own picture of the vin. Or have the meetup for the buy happen to be right in front of a police station :P

Pic seems to be taken outside, in what seems to be a relatively undisclosed but open area. Its confirming.

Not a race bike so why wouldn't he have a title or have paid the $30 or whatever for a reissue. Seems worth visiting him with a po-friend, VIN check for the real owner.

Making use of it as a parts bike or track bike would be good. In that situation I would get a copy of the sellers ID and address information along with a notarized bill of sale. My offer $500. Would be a nice upgrade for me though

It is you are right. However why is it a random persons business to call the cops on a guy and not even know for a fact if the bike is stolen.

It's a quite disclosed location. He took it with a Droid X at around 8000 E 12th Ave, according to the GPS coordinates embedded in that image.

Why is it so hard for the seller to provide a legit VIN? If the bike wasn't stolen then there should be no issues. If my bike was stolen I'd hope that other people outside my own circle would be vigilant and help me out.

How is the VIN report bogus?

If you think it's stolen, call the cops and be done or move on.
