Indian to be built by Polaris/Victory!

Not that I'd ever buy an Indian, but I think it's good that the brand finally has the backing of an ambitious and financially stable company.

It would be pretty interesting to see the new line up. I think Victory has some sweet looking cruisers.

I think this is an Indian...but then again I wasn't paying too much attention to the bike. (yes, there's a bike in this picture)

Re: Indian to be built by Polaris/Victory!

    Where?????

Actually, watching the lame and pathetic, and sometimes criminal (one of the guys did jail time for bilking investors if I remember) attempts at resurrecting the greatest name in American motorcycling over many years now, this is EXACTLY what I'd always wanted to see happen. IMO, Polaris should have done this FIRST, instead of after they'd already had the Victory brand. But, this should be a very good thing, and if they start making their own different engine for this and not simply using an existing Victory engine or, worse yet as has been done in the past (Ugh! Sacrilidge!), use essentially a Hardly engine, then I hope they succeed.

BTW that article is long on words and short on substance or technical details. I HOPE to god they just don't rebadge Polaris's existing bikes.

I am a little embarrassed about this as I did ride a Dyna for a few years... so I guess, I should know something about cruiser history...

Okay, so is this the 4th iteration of a motorcycle company with the "Indian" name producing the same general style bike?

I thought that as well at first, but is that really the Indian Head ornament or just a running light? From what I remember, those looked like the old HD knucklehead engine cases. Guess I don't know 'em enough to tell.

When Indian goes racing .... Then I'll get excited. Who knows? Maybe they could start out with super-motards and eventually come up with something like a KTM RC8 (only in classic maroon Indian colors with white tires). ... or maybe they could get some love from the folks at motocyzt? spelling? And compete in MotoGP with an inline four. Until then, it's just gonna be a lot of expensive cruisers. yawn.

Announcer On Radio: Eyewitnesses say that the bees are yellow and black, and dress much the way Eli Wallach did in the movie "The Magnificant Seven". The bees are also overweight..
Chevy Chase: Wait a minute.. you must be..

That's what you get when you build your own rigid. (...and not to digress, but that motor is looking more like an S&S 145" than anything else...)

Yeah, trust me man. I "Hope" this "Change" is gone as expected in 2 more years so we can start rebuilding our economy. I might end up driving a school bus, and only part-time at that! Sux man. Best of luck finding new and better work!
