    $7.99 safety wire pliers

Usually don't buy stuff from harbor freight, but safety wire pliers for $8 should be a decent bet. Use the coupon code: 53412581

I thought these were normally like $40 somewhere but ef me if this isn't a good deal. whatever

??? What do you need pliers for? Unless you're doing something over 8" double twist methood, you don't need those.

I safety wire almost every day at work, SWP can even sometimes slow you down, unless they are longer stings.

But Hey, That is a good price! Go for it.

Ya, I thought they were a good deal when I first bought them too. I got used to them not holding the wires really well and didn't think much of it until I borrowed a quality pair. I turned right around and dropped the $30 for a good set, and never regretted it.

My $20 set of BikeMaster's is okay except that the twist piece sticks alot and doesn't retract automatically.

I have the pricey ones as well, although I didn't have any others to compare them to, they work really well for all the safety wiring I was doing

I've never regretted buying good tools.

I almost always regret buying cheap ones.

I've use the HF pliers, and frankly, they suck.

I learned a long time ago that buying cheap tools was a waste of money. Buy the good stuff when it goes on sale, even if you don't immediately need it, like the Vise Grips I bought 4-5 years ago and didn't need once until yesterday when I found myself home alone trying to get out of the new one piece leathers I just bought.

The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

    Re: $7.99 safety wire pliers

I worked on F4 Phantoms out at the Navy airfield at China Lake for a few years, and these guys would drop $120+ on a set of killer SW pliers without blinking an eye, but they used them almost all day long, almost every day. They were some excellent quality tools though. I guess the thing is, if you plan on using them to prep your bike once, maybe twice, maybe get a cheap set, if you're serious about using them and cannot afford the tool failing on the job, spend the $$. I have some really cheap tools (set of 5 snap ring pliers) I bought at HF, and I've used them so seldom it doesn't matter, and they've never failed me. Of course, I've used them a total of maybe 3 times in 25 years.
