    Question Durango foodie suggestions

I've been to Durango once in my life. I had such a great time (coincidentally, I was with 7 of CSC's finest) that I'll be back there again very soon, though cagin' it this time.

Question: Absolutely what food, brew, or other palate-inspiring establishments should we check out in Durango/Cortez/Ouray?

Won't mind "touristy" as that's what we'll be, but we'd like to avoid "gimmicky." THANKS!

Well there are a couple of good sushi joints now. The latest one is Sushitarian, which trumps "East by southwest" as the best in Durango IMO.

Christina's serves up mighty good breakfast, including a huuuuge ham steak!

Steamworks brewpub & Carvers for brewskis and grub. Lady Falconburg's for Sunday brunch.

When you going? Ann and I are headed that way soon.

    Steamworks is cool for dinner.

Most stuff on the main drag is decent.

For lunch there is a place called The Patio that is outside venue that is cool for lunch and afternoon drinks. Usually have some music, food is decent and it is outdoors (raised 2d floor patio about a 1/4 mile from the trainstation, right on the main drag).

Lady Whatever the name is (we make fun of it everytime so I dont remember the real name) is good for evening drinks. Weekends usually crowded but great selection of beer on tap.

I get liquored up at least once a year there. Main drag has all you need for that, good mix of folks, ask some locals at the joints what is good.

Ska Brewing is there. Off the beaten path but recently (last year) moved to a new location. Check their website for new location if you like their brew. Think Bristols atmosphere but Ska beer....

If I could find decent work in Durango, I would not mind living there.

If you are riding down for the weekend, consider an overnight in Ouray. Cool, tiny town, most everything Mom and Pop owned.

Lady Falconburgh's is a must for food and brew. The Irish Embassy is also good.

in Ouray I can suggest Billy Goat Gruffs on the south end of town. on a nice summer day you can't beat the views from their beer garden, combine that with some good beer and brats? it makes for a fantastic end to a long day's ride.

other than that i've eaten at The Outlaw and Bon Ton, both were decent if you're looking for more of a sit down meal.

Saw the beginning of Cinnamon Pass on the Lake City side back in September. The views in the area were incredible, and I imagine they'll become even more stunning once well onto the Pass.
