    Free BEER and Free FOOD!

Figured I would start a new thread, a follow up on the "non-harley hangout" post.

I talked to the owners of Brothers BBQ and GB Fish and Chips and both are on board to hook us up! I know some folks have done the whole Bothers thing and it sounds like its not that great of a place to watch the races but they are offering up a free pitcher of beer and hot wings for every 5 bikes that show up (I also have a bunch of gift cards). GBs is further north, by Sloans Lake and they are down to hook us up with beer and fish (and chips). GBs also sponsors a couple of the local riders that pop in from time to time.

I have to call ahead at both places and this is something (at least for now) that I have to be there to get. Sooo im just throwing it out there, we should pick some dates and cruise down there.

    What do you guys think?

Sounds like a good deal! I feel like Brothers offered that once before, though. How are they gonna keep track of the bikes & the special? As long as someone doesn't get screwed on something, then all is good.

So you're not talking about the GB's on Broadway, right?

There are two of them now. The one on Sheridan and 18th? Is where the manager I know works.

Im thinking this go-round with Brothers could be different. I have been doing work for them for a few years, I am pretty confident that they will be good to us.

Hey I welcome the opportunity closer to home! I just wanna make sure that there isn't a lot of animosity at the end of the day. People & their tabs get pretty picky, especially when the word "free" is involved. I'd just recommend they have a well thought out plan that's communicated clearly to anyone showing up for "free" anything. Just some advice after 5 years of bike nights

That's what I was thinking? The whole "ride your bikes and I'll give you free beer" thing is just wrong? Can't believe a restaurant owner would even suggest that?

Right? I mean thats the craziest thing I have ever heard...

I know that today is not Sunday but I thank you for your sermon on this wonderful Tuesday afternoon. Maybe I will catch you in the lobby for some milk and cookies?

Sorry, don't like milk and cookies and I'm not religious so no sermon.

Just pointing out the obvious law suit that the owner is setting himself up for by encouraging people to ride there bikes by giving them free beer. That is a lawer's wet dream right there. It's a little different then having free beer for wearing a funny tie and having the option to car pool or have a designated driver.

If you want to drink and ride that's completely up to you and I really don't care, it's your life, your choice. (as long as you don't injur someone else that is) I'm not preaching to you, I'm saying that is a dumb move on the owners part.

David, myself, and a few others have been meeting fairly regularly at the Sloans Lake GBs to watch the Speed coverage of WSB/MotoGP on Sundays this year. Nothing formal, just a get together with other race enthusiasts.

The food is excellent, the location is perfect as you return from the canyons, and there is plenty of parking. If you're not riding, they have a good selection of beers, from dirt cheap PBRs to thicker English brews.

Hopefully we'll see some of you there when we're not racing!

Chris - they might even show the odd Chelsea game, too

Kris and I have been there a few times, EXCELLENT food. I even saw David there once too. I'm up for meeting up for a WSBK or MotoGP race.

And the "no beer" people, don't order beer. It's not that hard of a concept.

FYI, I'm with you. Don't drink and ride.... well, I have been known to have a middy at lunch occasionally. Middy == 10oz.

Hahaha, no I'm not going to share. It's just childish name calling. I just wanted to call him out on it because I think it's funny.

I'm not slamming on anyone for going out and having a beer. Hell I'm having one right now!
I just think it was bad judgement (statement) by the restaurant owner. He is really putting himself in a huge liability situation if someone was to have an accident.
It's one thing to offer up food etc. but to offer up free beer for riding your bike could land him in a world of hurt if something were to happen.

Relax everybody, Have a beer and smile :-)
