I think the public would like officers more if they didnt issue fines for BS things. Speeding for 25 over? Ill buy that.... but speed traps and handing out tickets like candy for 5-10 over? First, let me say that I support our armed forces 110% and that this comment is based on the OP. That being said, if a Marine does it, we cheer. If a cop did it, he would have serious repercussions for using excessive force. Don't both of them protect us and lay their life on the line everyday? Ones local and the other is international.
If it were true, I would assume the actual beatdown would be considered a criminal act and the police report would not have been accurate, as I think we all can tell, and that is the humor in the story. While we all would be happy with the "oversight" in such an instance I think we also need look no farther than recent events with the DPD to see you have to insure that the official reports be accurate and above all truthful. As we have also seen in the past, criminals seem to have more rights than victims.
