DRIVEN Grips Alumitech D-3 Motorcycle Grips

Does anyone run these? looking to upgrade my grips to something not so smooth with more grip than the stocks. I was drawn to these because I tend to like to hold my bars towards the ends anyway.

I picked up a set of the plain Driven grips (no aluminum bits) from 303 a while back. I like them a lot. Definitely increased grip over stock, but they also wear out faster. I'll pick up another set when I get around to it.

Thanks, I am probably going to get a set. I was afraid the aluminum part would make the grip feel wierd.

If you're in Denver, I think 303 Cycle has them in stock and you can try them out and see how they feel. 303 was advertising the heck out of them last summer.

I've heard mixed results on 'em. Some folks love 'em, some folks replace 'em pretty quickly. I think Goose had some that he swapped. Matty had some that he may have kept. It's a personal preference thing, but if you search for "Driven" or "D3 Grips" you'll probby find a thread or two about 'em on the CSC

hhmmm. I didn't know that they made a grip without the aluminum. I may have to look into those. Other than the grip wearing out are there any other complaints?

nope... same grippy material as the D3s. Simple black grips... nothing fancy.

Also, for 13 bucks, you can buy 4 sets for the same price as the aluminum ones.

I hated the ones I had on my zx6r. The metal rubbed the inside of my thumb raw. Super comfy except for the metal area by your thumb and forefinger.

Call Dave at 303... I have no idea, but if I had to wager a guess, it's a texture thing. They're grippi-er for your pleasure...

Something I was concerned about and why I went with the non-metal grips.

Just a quick note I have the Driven grips in stock at Fay Myers. No experience myself, I am using Spider grips

I had them on my R1. I liked them, they were thick and sticky (heh). I ended up replacing them with some Renthal mediums because the D3s were wearing out pretty quick. They look damn good, but I probably wouldn't buy them again.

Re: DRIVEN Grips Alumitech D-3 Motorcycle Grips

if you have a tendency to grip the throttle with your index finger/thumb, the d3 grips kinda suck. the aluminum bit becomes pretty friggin slick after some wear.

also, if you use a throttlemeister you will have to cut/expand the outer aluminum ring on the throttle grip because the plastic throttlemeister sleeve wont fit under it

I have them, not 100% loving them, but i bought them for looks and i do like them for that. have not done a long ride with them but i don't think it would be comfy as a normal gel set.
