Hey everyone,
I'm in the process of sanding my helmet to repaint it (from Icon blue to black with graphics). I've heard some spray paints weaken plastic, will this mess up my helmet? Are there certain paints better than others? Thanks.

You can sleep in your car but you can't race a house.
I call my engine bay "The Ranch", cuz that's where my 172 horses live.

NorCal,
Generally it's not recommended as there are solvents in the paint that can affect the integrity of your helmet. I know that there are some paints out that do not do this, but I don't know which ones they are. If you ask a quality paint place they may know, but it will be critical to know if the shell of your helmet is fiberglass, plastic or some kind of composite.
Good luck
Scott
