Who has the ST4s? I'm really looking into getting one of those next. How do you like it? Do you have ABS? Thoughts?

No internet! Egad!
I can't afford the insurance on the ST4s till some of my current oppsies go away, so there's no rush. But it looks like it has all the qualities I want in a sport touring bike.
Maybe the next time you guys go on a ride I can join ya and catch up with him then.

I tried some passes this weekend as well...
Monarch - white out conditions going and coming....
Slumgullion - white out conditions made me turn around and camp @ 9500 ft.. snowed all night.
Ouray - Red Mountain Pass- not possible - too much snow/ice
Black Canyon. Rain, rain, rain....
I shoulda gone north!!
Oh, come ON, grumpy... An opening like that and you don't spill at least a couple of Duc ST horror stories???Originally Posted by RAGrote";p="210476
Man, the pain of waiting on parts must have worn off! Pity mine hasn't...
Just a tip - if you REALLY wanna buy an ST Duc, just call up your "local" Italian parts supplier, and price out or try to order a couple of "expendables", like, say, an alternator, or a clutch. I'd recommend Erico in Denver, as opposed to PhayMart. Oh - that's right - IS there a Duc supplier in the Springs these days???
If the prices don't bother you, you might be a potential Ducati owner!
Build a man a fire, and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
I drive an Audi, so I'm used to expensive parts. How reliable is the ST4S platform? I'm aware the valve servicing on a Duc is pricey, but how is the life on other "wear" parts? What mileage are you replacing your clutch and alternator at?
I work about 10 blocks from Erico and plan on moving to Denver in a year or two, so that's ok. But I haven't even sat on one, but I like how the specs look on paper... so I don't know if I really want one or not, but right now it looks like a really fun sport touring bike for me -- power and handling and looks.

You lost me here, however. I took the KTM on a ride this weekend and got snow, snow, snow.
And yes... they still sell/service Ducs in the Springs... they've relegated the stock to the back wall... interesting.
Anybody who wants the low-down on Ducs PM me or willy and we'll make your hair stand up....
Yep Dalton's works REALLY good now that he's punched three holes up each exhaust and hacked the top of the airbox offOriginally Posted by ImolaFem";p="211017

Well, I just stopped by Erico. They had an ST4S there, but the battery was dead. So I opted to ride the ST3 instead. I must say, 12093812093710237 time more comfortable than my F4i. Torque from a stop was fun. But I was nonplussed.
So then the salesperson suggested the new Triumph Sprint. That bike had the power where I wanted it and felt a lot more manuverable. I was leaning forward on my wrists a bit and question how comfortable this is over 1000 mile rides. Any personal experiences? Also the tank didn't contour to how my legs would grip and the "demo" had 936 miles on it and it made making some "funny sounds". Any one have this bike? What do you think? The salesperson said the magazines write it up as the best sport tourer EVER. I haven't done my own research yet.
I'll go back later this week to ride the ST4S. So what's those Duc horror stories? I do want quality... which scares me a bit on the triumph.

I don't know where Ben's new shop is but his house is a few miles off of 83- a really nice ride. Ben's a cool mofo and really hooked me up with some parts for my racebike.Originally Posted by Nick_Ninja";p="211149
Not a shred of evidence exists in favor of the idea that life is serious.
BTW- is that Dalton's XRL? Does he want to loan it to me for a season?
That be Bruce's XRL. I don't think he wants to part with the thing bro. Too much dirt in The Boat in the summerOriginally Posted by Dysco";p="212364
