Need help at the Randy Run for fallen riders

I need some help. It was suggested that we hold a burn out competition at the 5th Annual Randy Run for fallen riders. I'll be happy to do so...only I have no clue how to run a competition or set it up. Anybody out there know how to set it up and are you willing to help us out? The date is June 18th in the parking lot of the Frontier Club in Aurora. We can really use the help.

    Thanks
    Terry

I know very little about burnouts, and I have a knobbie-ish back tire, so I'm generally pretty useless. But I did find this link. It's relating to cars, put could apply to bikes? Link

    The basics:
2 min to show off (maybe less for a bike? )
    Stay inside a squared area
    categories for engine size
based on crowd reaction and a few judges

Sounds pretty cool. I hope it comes together!

Thanks for the link. I don't see why it couldn't be used for bikes.

Maybe have a few fire extinguishers on hand, just in case!

if its just going to be a stationary burnout, something like a barrier to nose the bike against and keep it from flying into the cowd, and a steel plate to do the burnout on, so you don't tear up the concrete/pavement. I'd also have someone there keeping a close eye on the tire, to make sure they aren't sending cords/debris into the crowd.

Good call with the barrier to put your front tire against. What about a lubricant to put on the platform or under the rear tire? Don't they usually throw something down, so it doesn't wear out the tire as much? Or something with food coloring for color?

Most definitely a barrier to nose in to. We had some guys 2 years ago doing burnouts...bike took off and 7 bikes to the side of him went down to the ground!!

I am not a huge fan of burnouts anywhere near a crowd, nose holders are an improvement but that is a lot of power being unleashed by often times inexperienced riders who are trying to show off. It generally goes fine because it is not a difficult stunt (yea don't do rollers) but it would only take one good mess up to turn it bad (youTube).

This is my personal opinion and it should not be construed by any party, living or brain dead to be a suggestion of how they should behave.
