    corbin

Corbin makes a great seat. I've got over 30,000 miles on mine and it has been comfortable on long rides......
    my two cents,

BAH to Corbin! Too big for a sportbike. Gel is $.

yo dysco..... Corbin starts with the stock pan, makes a fiberglass relief of it, beefs it up for strength, and replaces the 'marshmallow' foam with laminates of various higher-density padding. hence; no 'bigger'!!!

1500 miles in LT 24hrs; kudos for both Russel (Harry Biker) and Corbin!

Compared to stock seat which gave me a sore ass in the first 100 miles of a 2000 mile trip, the Corbin was great for a similar 4-day trip.

For track with more body position shifting, and knee dragging, it may not be as good as stock. But for normal street riding or distance, I won't ride without the Corbin.

Performance Cycle - $240; they had to order it, so waited 2-3 weeks I think. Same price online at Corbin site.

If you are lucky, they occasionally show up on EBay - my son got one there for an F4i for about $140.

For the past couple of days I have been commuting to work with the suit that I picked up last week. I have been wearing my bicycle shorts and jersey under the suit. Although this has not been an extended ride, hope to do that this weekend, I have stayed cool and my butt doesn't hurt much.

Performance bicycle shops has one for $44.99. Now don't poo poo the idea just yet. The bike shorts have a chamy to keep your nether regions cool and dry. That alone can make the trip a little more comfortable.

bags! I just won the California lottery!"
"Honey!", Kathy exclaims, "Shall I pack for warm weather or cold?"
"I don't care," responds the husband. "just so long as you're out of the house by dinner!"

Although I'm sure it's not as comfortable as a new seat, I can vouch for the bicycle shorts thing - I wore some when I rode to & from Vegas last year. A good tip from one of our touring officionados, Harry Biker

I would reccomend the Corbin. They use the stock pan, then they add better foam to where it is needed. On most HRC seats, they raise the seating position up in the front to give you a more leveled seating position. Sargent also uses similar technology, but usually come at a higher price.

If interested, I recently chatted with a custom motorcycle seat shop that is in Longmont. They will refit and shape you seat if desired. They also expressed that they can refit the sit with memory-foam, tempor-foam, and even gel. They are a "newer" local shop, and their prices where resonable. A lot cheaper than a whole new seat from Corbin or Sargent. I can get you a website and phone number if you like.
