    Any Yamaha FJR owners?

I'm thinking an FJR will be my next bike. I've been impressed by them since a multi-state / multi-day ride the CSC did a few years ago. We had two FJRs with us.

The reasoning is simple. I love my FZ6, it's great for solo riding but not so great for 2up.

I like to ride with Mrs. Clovis behind me (as she is in all things in life). The current FZR just feels too small with both us on it (but perfect for solo).

I'm just wondering, if you have or had a FJR, would you mind posting how you liked it? A big plus if you rode 2 up on a regular occassion.

    I've also considered getting a FZ1

    Thank you!!

    -Clovis

I love mine, but it is a heavy bike, and likes to eat tires like cheerios. However, I do ride it like a sport bike, so that might have something to do with the tire wear.

I loved mine when I had it. It is a big heavy bike but that all disappears when you get rolling. The only gripe I had on the bike was that when ridden with vigor it seemed to push a little in the front end.

It would make a great two up bike.

You might want to look at the ST Honda's also as they are a very capable two up sport touring bike.

There are a lot of very capable STs on the market now that really put a lot of "sport" back into the bike.

If something were to happen and I had to replace the Strada, I'd seriously be looking at the following:
    FJR
    Connie
    Sprint GT
    another Multistrada

The new VFR 1200 might also be worth looking at. It's on the sport side of the sport-touring equation but should be pretty good at two-up.

To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Hit up GuitarX if you're considering the Viffer1200. He recently purchased one.

In addition, Gary can also give great insight on the new Ninja 1000 (similar to an FZ1 only fully faired).

    Re: Any Yamaha FJR owners?

I had an 05 FJR; I can't say enough good things about that bike. That thing was the most comfortable bike I have ever owned, and it got down in the corners.

I would stay away from the 05s though. They had a ticking issue with the lifters. Other than that, it is the most amazing bike ever.

Pm me if you need any help finding one.
