Riding my bike today i got home... after a couple hours i took it out again and as soon as I got to speed it began making a ticking noise on the left side, directly under the gas tank... Im thinking its my cct (cam chain tensioner) but I could be wrong... Any ideas???? And if it is, how hard is it to replace? Any previous experiences? A write-up would be nice. Thanks in advance
Where you located? Can bring it over and I'll take a look. The Kawasaki is famous for the tick and it's not always bad.
The cam chain tensioner is on the right side. The tick is most likely the mormal Kawasaki tick.
Its the countdown tick to explosion.
If its not anything else, check the oil level. The lower that is the more "weird" ticks you get.
So i spent a little more time trying to find the issue and turns out it was a vibration between the gas tank and frame. turns out the rubber "block" between the two fell out on the left side. Luckily I had a spare and now its back to normal. Just glad it wasn't the cct after all
