Triumph dealer you are happy with?

I have an oil burning issue with the Daytona that I am going to have to run down and bike is still under warranty.

I am on the fence about taking it to Apex here in the Springs (local dealer). If you are happy with your triumph dealer, let me know. I think our local guys are OK but they dont move a lot of triumphs down here and that is why I am hesitant. Am I being over-sensitive and need to man up?

Oh, issue is the ride this weekend, over 502 miles of riding the oil level went from full to just below low on the dipstick. Have not topped off yet to equate what that is to volume. Never had a bike burn oil (unlike my beater car) not to mention it is only at 3100 miles. I bought it used in Oct with only 650 miles on it and previous owner did do the 600 mile service.

That is quite odd, and should be looked at right away, imo. My bike has gone from sight glass full to between the 2 lines over 5k miles. The two euro dealers in the Denver area that I'm familiar with are Erico on Walnut St and Foothills in Lakewood on Wadsworth.

My dad's neighbor is a fanatic about Triumphs and a mechanic and just had us refer a friend to Erico to have his Triumph's electrical issue repaired. He says they have to most parts on hand and really know what they are doing and has taken his stuff there that he didn't want to do himself.

I never had any issues with the warranty service work done for me at Foothills. They worked on both of my Triumphs.

As for Erico, they've been good to me so far with the Duc regarding warranty stuff... I would assume they would handle your Triumph as well.

That sounds a little crazy. Did you run the bike after filling it up cold, then top it off again? Just checking.

I took my stuff to Erico.. I wasn't super Impressed got a eh we can care less about you vibe. Tried to or a part in a pinch and got no help.. Called Foothills and they called and Begged Triumph to Overnight it to them and got it to me the next day so I could make my road trip. Since have delt with there parts department a couple of times and been VERY impressed so I would say go to Foothills!

I really like Erico and took my Ape to them once, even stayed open a little late for me since I got stuck in traffic.

Checked warm like the manual said to. When topped off, I would run it a bit to warm it up and rechecked, and incrementally topped off like that the other day.

When checked yesterday, I warmed it and checked - saw it was low.

Thanks to all for the feedback on Foothills and Erico. I will call and schedule something, load it in th truck, and run it to Denver for the work.

Just talked to Foothills. They seem to think the rings weren't seated. I rode 300 miles yesterday with no oil consumption - hence the diagnoses.

Will continue to monitor. Surprisingly allowable burn is 1 qt per 1000 miles...

Thanks for all the input guys/gals.
