Yeah like Outlaw said it depends on your bike. I don't know enough about Kawis to tell you, but if you made a thread or checked out some Kawi forums they can probably help. Like I said I liked the impovement it made for my bikes.

How did we get to all this "fancy" looking stuff; wasn't he asking about performance mods?

They are performance mods. Appearance performance. That's a thing right?

See if you can't get a used F-16 Turbine from a Military junkyard, then strap that puppy onto your bike.

    Don't listen to the haters.

Turbos are super-cheap and very easy to install, and they make the bike *way* easier to ride afterwards, even if they're carb'd.

The big thing is to hide the install as best you can, then you can have the ultimate "sleeper" bike...

Super/Turbocharged vehicles are also more efficient at altitude due to having a compressor, so you'll be the high-altitude king!

Lol, I was actually kinda joking, as turbos are expensive to build and a PITA to maintain/setup properly especially on a carb'd bike, but it can be done--with money, time and tuning.

Plus turbo bikes are goddamn scary to ride, especially in the wet.
    Or the Dry.
    Or in canyons.
Or wheelieing in 4th by accident when the boost hits...

My best friend was a tech for 20+ years and he turbocharged his 1995 CBR900RR and got something like 230-260whp on the dyno at 7psi and I forget what at 14psi but it was right at/close to 300.

It was a full custom build (complete engine build + turbo), including an Air-to-Air intercooler and all custom piping. I'm not sure what all it cost but my guess would be in the $7-8k range (not counting what he'd put in the motor itself). He also had full Ohlin suspension, forged rims and Brembo brakes, but it otherwise looked pretty much stock.

However, despite all the time, love, money and attention he put into it, once his daughter was born he sold the bike since he felt it wasn't really streetable--and the guy who bought it off him wadded it up the first week he owned it...

SO...they're not the most user-friendly thing out there. A new/used 2008+ CBR1000RR would give you 90% of the thrill for probably less than the cost of your 600 + turbo.

But if you're serious, then call the guys at those shops, for a 600 you have to go small as you won't spool a large turbo without MASSIVE lag...and lag is not your friend on a bike...

Have fun, don't get killed, enjoy...

well though you were joking I did find a turboing kit on ebay

I enjoy scary. In my opinion fear is just a prerequisite to respect when it comes to a machine like this.

The sites I listed are all legit, I'd talk to them first before going with a "universal" kit--that means it'll work poorly for everything and isn't designed for anything in particular.

Seriously, the thing with a turbo is either do it right or don't do it at all...half-assing it to be cheap will just lead to bad shit happening...

    Re: turbo charging my bike

I knew a guy who turbo'd his 929. 7 PSI and blew out his motor within two weeks. After he spent thousands on the fab/install/parts.
