It is awesome that you guys are so responsible. I cant wait to grow up some day lol. sorry had to. But seriously. the track can be fun I am sure and I will have to try it out one day but I also like riding it to work and to my parents house and showing off a little bit.

Need a turbo to shave them milliseconds off your lap time?

    Just change your sprocket sizes.

    I feel cheated.

My advise would be to practice more.

I'm big like mountain and there's rarely been a time where I wish my 600 had more power. The only time is when I'm 2 up and we're at a higher altitude.

If you want to go beyond that, get a 1000cc. When I had the R1 there was never a time that I thought "damn, what this bike needs is more power!".

I'd say get a FZ1 personally since my FZ6 is such a blast to ride.
(The FZ1 uses the same engine as R1 with 97% of the power. The FZ6 uses the R6 engine). These bikes are "sport bikes" instead of "super sport" bikes that most people have. This means they're happy to do canyons, city or sport touring. Extremely comfortable with outstanding power and handling.

    Forum monster ate my post?

In short: his bike, his money, his life, he wants a turbo let him get one...probably not much different than getting a liter bike as your first bike...except it'll cost more, be less rideable, and more prone to both breaking down and/or crashing...but, again, his choice...

ok ghost I get it lol. I am good at projects and I bought the bike cheap. you are all much more experienced than I am so I will not turbo my bike. If you guys honestly believe it will be less rideable and more prone to breaking down I will just leave it alone maybe change up the sprockets but thats it. I may paint it to change it up a bit. but no mods to the actual engine. lol you guys won.

Thats a good idea. Everything that has been told to you is right. Power adders like turbo's, super-chargers, and even nitrous require a lot of work by someone who knows what they are doing. They also put so much stress on your engine that it is just a matter of time before something goes wrong.

not trying to knock you man, but you were just looking for the "fatty hook up" on tires...whatever the hell that means...

if you can't justify/afford ~$200 to put new tires on your bike, I can't really see how you can justify wasting money on mods...your bike is unique enough being that its a 98 zx that is still on the road...but to each their own

Tires don't help bike performance. LEDs and turbos do.

    Re: turbo charging my bike

I was not looking to do it right now and FYI I got the fatty hook up meaning something cheap that keeps me on the road for now till I start getting paid from my new job. I was looking for a winter project for while I am not riding to occupy my time. that is all. but since all these kind people so graciously explained why I shouldn't do it I am not going to. I will just have to find another project to occupy my time and leave the bike alone. on the 20th I can justify/afford new tires and I will be getting them if your looking for that answer. however since I just picked up the bike not more than 2 weeks ago with the last of the cash I had from my former job I couldn't afford brand new tires so Peanut hooked me up with a set of take offs to keep me riding. "thank you again peanut I am in debt to you"

Just an FYI since I am being questioned about my reasons.

    Thanks

    Re: turbo charging my bike

there's nothing wrong with doing a turbo kit. like many others have posted though, probably better to start with a better platform. at least start with a fuel injected bike. from there, sure you could turbo a 600, but then you might just barely be running with liter bikes. i mean, you would have the meanest 600 around but still nothing crazy fast. if you really wanted to turbo something, get yourself a used fuel injected liter bike, or hell even a 99/00 hayabusa, they take turbo's great.

Should get a supercharged V-Max instead. Would make a great beginner's bike!

New one or old one? The old ones were OK, but not super "fast" out of the box. I've heard these new ones are cracking like high 9s (sea level) near stock. Definitely a cool muscle bike.
