Well this is disappointing news. The wife told me it felt like the earth was rockin', I guess it was just the earthquake and not my extra effort

People making todo about nothing...LOL There are earthquakes thousands of times a year in this area...just so small you don't typically feel them. 5.3 or whatever channel is reporting...LOL seems to depend on station is nothing at all.

I was in bed, and did not feel shit. Nor would I care if I did.

yep. well maybe not "thousands". But quite a few anyway.

Imagine the quakes it took to form those mountains outside the window. Don't forget that at their highest, they were twice as tall as they stand today.

    Re: CO earthquake?

Didn't feel squat, but some of the comments on the news sites this morning are amusing:

    KKTV:
"...my vanity table started shaking, by corner of the wall, jumped up thought a squirrel had come in."

"...thought I was going crazy last nite my bed was shaking I was about to go pound on my nieghbors door and ask them to stop walking so hard."

"Drove 2 days from Louisiana to visit Colorado and know people get excited when I show up but this is ridiculous. "

    "Sleeping with clothes on tonight."

    Gazette:
"I couldn't figure out why my bed was shaking. Chalked it up to the neighbors in the apartment below me having some energetic fun."

"I just assumed It was a flashback to my indiscretions in the 70's."

I rarely think of motorcycles without a little yearning. They are about moving, and humans, I think, yearn to move – it’s in our cells, in our desires. We quiet our babies with cyclic movement, and we quiet ourselves by going.

I remember a 5.3. I was sitting on the can on 7th Ave near Capitola Rd. and it sounded like a train was coming until the crack hit me. I never lost a beat.

I was in Felton for the Loma Prieta quake, inside Ted's Market before it was New Leaf. I made my way down Hwy 9 just before it was closed for major repairs that took forever.

I lived in Mexico City when they had a pretty good size quake...so 5.3 is not all that much. So yeah I am too cool for a CO little shaking...LOL Scary part about Mexico is, do you trust the building quality!!!!

Then again I expect people to panic over the little things. Look at the 'Beaver Creek Fire' people were all going ape shit when no homes were in danger, at least it was a good watch from my deck...LOL

You have a narrow view of what makes interesting news. Not everyone has the same life experiences. If you were a geologist, this would be major news.

Try to see the big picture sometime.

    Re: CO earthquake?

Given the dry conditions in the mountains, I'd expect them to go ape shit over that. The Hayman fire wasn't threatening any homes for a time either, but you only need to drive a half hour out of town to see where that ended up.

I took a geology class for fun, actually it was really fun. I just don't think this is BREAKING news. But from a geologist stand point it would be interesting.
