Had lunch with that guy. He flew in from new zealand, rented a duc, and rode around for two weeks. Not a bad plan.

Could you estimate what the total cost of this trip was?

great pics, I love doing a long haul here and there, but need to slow it down and maybe less miles a day, I normally just go on them to get to a point B from Point A so i try and push myself with miles. But looks alot better to slow down a bit. My last trip was in june with 3200 miles in 3 and half days. Did 1008 miles the first day and never less than 900 miles the rest of the days.. Nothing like exploring the the country on 2 Wheels!

Using rough figures I came up with about $2500 for 21 days
    Lodging: 21 days * ~$70 a night = ~1500
    Gas: 6600 miles / 45 MPG * $4.00 PG =~$600
Meals: ~$30 per day * 21 days = ~$600 I had breakfast at the hotel, a power bar for lunch, and a decent dinner.

Obviously, this is a ballpark figure.

Seems like we're kindred "sport-touring" spirits, too bad we couldn't have hooked up for my ride this weekend.

Great pics! Hope the goat was ok when Jon was done.....

With Jon, I can only imagine the "unless you're the goat" statement!

Pshaw! A measly 300/day. I did an average 530/day for the 3-1/2 days on Labor Day. Looks like an awesome trip though! (Well, except for the goat......)
