    Down 3 times

What a day. Towards the end of the first novice practice, I lowside off turn 1 trying to pass. Thanks, Bueller, for the spare rearset. Then, in the AmU heat, someone (forget who) went down in the rat's nest and I had no choice but to try the bank shot off his bike (or his head) and off I go in the mud again. Tweaked my forks a little. My exhaust can is lookin gnarly. Scramble to make NU and did, but had to miss the heat for NO. Everyone's heard of Bertha's moon launch, right in front of me. I was on the left, but as I go to the edge to dodge that carnage , the guy immediately to Bertha's left takes us both off onto the grass, but we slid back up to make turn 1, no harm (the guy apologized when we got back to the grid). On the second lap of the real race, I hit the bump on the back straight and enjoyed a first class tank slapper. Guess the forks were worse than I thought. Tried to survive to the end, but on the last lap, got squirrely on the back straight again and just...couldn't... make... turn 3 and into the mud when the front caught the edge. I was still ready to rock, but the R6 wasn't. All my muddy banged up shit reminds me of the dirt bike days...

Some people just don't know when to say when
Good luck getting the bike back together. At least you came out in good shape.
I had to hand out half of my spares yesterday just to keep the racing going. :P

Yep Sounds like the dirt bike days when the excuse was "I was going really really fast and then I fell off"

I hope you are OK Joe. Bummer on the fall offs.

    Cheers.

Joe, glad you are OK. It was definatly an action packed weekend.
Going thru the S turns, I got a few tank slappers through out the day. I adjusted my steering dampener tighter only to make the entire bike wiggle.
I am in need of some suspension help.

Bueller, thanks for the brake bleeder. You are the Man! DARC racing owes you one.

I have found that changing your lines at bit through the S will help with headshake. That said, there weren't too many laps that I didn't get any headshake, but when you are cooking and you hit bumps, it's going to happen to some degree. Watch the pros, they get headshake/rear slides all the time and ride it like nothing happened.

I didn't think you could go through there at speed without headshake?

All my bikes like to wiggle

Ironically, that's exactly what happened to Greenwood on Saturday in MWE.

Joe that will teach you to let every body know that you just painted the bike......
    It wanted to go down.

    Glad your not hurt physically.

    The warning to all.
Before racing with a fresh painted set of bodywork.
Make sure to throw it down the front straight before racing...

This will take the paint to ground attraction out of the bodywork.

    Hopefully it helps

ha! or just one nice scratch with a screwdriver... either one works.. when i used to race scca i'd give the car one good kick and dent it somewhere after new paint.. usually did the track.. and i am serious. when i didn't i got smacked...

Also, never wash your bike the day before a track day. It attracts the pavement snakes.

    Re: Down 3 times

I always get a little headshake when I hit bumps when on the gas, and the back straight bump would do it to me when I hit it just so. Also, that little straight at CDR that goes west before you turn right onto the back straight But the bike got seriously out of wack a couple times in the NGTU race, and I think I know why. Just took the fork legs off and you can see and feel a hollow on the inner tubes (left and right) just below where the lower triple tree clamps. Gotta get some parts in quick...
