Just curious, but how many on here are actually qualified to give nutrition/supplement/work out advice? I'm not meaning this to sound like an ass, I'm just wondering who all, if any, is a certified nutritionalist or personal trainier.

None, just like all of the other info on this board. This is an informal, and motivational, idea. All tips, training and thoughts should be taken at the readers discretion. The idea is so that we have a small support group and don't feel like we're doing it alone. Just trying to keep motivation to stick with it.
Exactly! Do we need a disclamer! Just trying to help out people since I have been all about fitness for the last 8 years and want to spread the knowledge that took me a long time to figure out and I wasted a lot of time when I wasn't working out correctly. I do everything I preach though and am at the gym at least 5 days a week and have transformed myself from a skinny guy in a few years.

Im not certified, but Sports Medicine was my minor in college. That being said, Sprtbkbabe's post is full of win!
I also recommend pretty much anything written by David Zinczenko. He is the EIC of Men's Health and Women's Health magazines, as well as the author of "Eat This, Not That".

3D brought up a great point WAAAYYYY back at the beginning of this thread. I was a trainer at a couple gyms and had my NASM CPT a few years ago but got out of the industry and didn’t re-cert. I'd like to get a consensus from the CPT’s on this board regarding this diet. I don’t want to sound like I know it all, even though I do know quit at bit. Tell me what you think of this diet guys and gals. Hopefully, you can teach me something I didn’t know. Again, I’d like to hear specifically from CPTs or certified/degreed Nutritionists.

oh yea... I have seen many in my days in the different gyms. The majority of trainers I have seen in 24hr Fitness look like they just finished playing a few hours of WOW before they went to work. ( No offense to those who play MMORPG's ) Of course there are exceptions. Most of the trainers at the 24hr I go to seem like douche bags that think they are better than everyone in there. I usually only talk to one trainer at my gym, he's a pretty cool guy and knows his stuff. He don't even like most of the other trainers there.
It should be mandatory for a personal trainer to be in good shape, IMO! I'd think for business it would be good for them anyways. I would never let anyone train me that was not in the same or better shape than me.

I just started running last week, after about 4 months out. I'm pacing for my second half marathon in March/April and a full in May/June. I'm FO SHO not going to be running anything over 2 miles in under 8 min/mile for a little while but I'm down for a running partner, especially on weekend long runs.
The Chiro I saw was actually in San Francisco, when I was living out there a couple years ago. He treats a few Olympic athletes and works various Ironman events. I know there are people around here that do Active Relief Therapy. It's just a matter of finding them. I'll see if I can find his contact info and get him to refer someone out here.
It's hard to get motivated by a trainer that is in worse shape than you are! Walking the walk and talking the talk are two totally different things, though. I know trainers that work with competitive bodybuilders that are just plain fat. Now, most of those dudes are old school powerlifters and are strong as bulls but they still look like crap. I couldn’t imagine, though, trying to work in that field and not be in pretty stellar shape, especially knowing how competitive and shallow it is. I wasn’t cut when I trained but I was pretty swole up. If I would’ve gotten more disciplined and shredded up, my client list would have probably doubled.
