C'mon - just how organized do you think we are

I think once we have an idea of how many participants there will be (and who they are), we will break out into groups based upon skill level. As fas as the structure of the day, I would want input from the instructors, but maybe we could do instruction time in the morning, break for lunch, some free ride time, then follow-up session at the end of the day.

    Add some input here instructors....

Great feedback so far.... I'm surprised CSC has never done this before…

Trophy: did you get prices on other tracks, does no one have hook-ups?
    Pueblo:
    La Junta:
PPIR (is PPIR to much of a dream?)

I too am surprised that this hasn't been done before. If this works out maybe it will become an annual thing - maybe even with some kind of local sponsorship to help launch new riders into the MRA.

I didn't check any other tracks. I would like to keep it centrally located so its not too far for anyone to ride to. I know that no matter what it will be farther for some people. I'm also not familliar with any other smaller tracks.

annual hell... if it works well why not do it monthly...

PPIR is a pipe dream. way too much $$$$$$$$$$$$ as i understand it. and la junta is way too far for the people in denver (for the most part)

I think the idea was kicked around last year, but never got anywhere.

Trophy: did you get prices on other tracks, does no one have hook-ups?
    Pueblo:
    La Junta:
PPIR (is PPIR to much of a dream?)
Pueblo: Costs about the same as SCR, but it's a long drive. Turnout will not be as good.

    La Junta: Nobody would come!

PPIR: WAY too expensive. You'd have to charge 5x as much to make up for it, since you not only pay for the track, but an expensive insurance policy, safety crews, etc.

I think less-supervised sessions after lunch would be a good opportunity to give the participants time to work on things. We could also split into smaller groups (within the same session), and some could get some free ride time in, while those who want, can work on specifics with their instructors.

Re: CSC Track day at SCR

I'd be interested but my attendance would definitely be dependant on when the day is. We're pretty busy at work this summer so time off can be scarce.
    Track fiend.

Not yet fast enough to race.

I would love to get some track experience and instruction, definitely count me in if we can get it for around $125.00/person.

I am interested, also depending on the day. I'm already planning on racing next year, so if this would help me attain my license, that would be a huge plus.

WE HAVE A DATE!!! NOW WE JUST NEED THE DOUGH!!!

***FRIDAY AUGUST 19TH*** - Mark your calendars

This should give everyone who wants to participate plenty of time to a) plan on being sick from work that day, b) take a vacation day or c) quit their job on the 18th.

    Here are the details;

The cost is $2000. We need to pay 50% in mid-July when I receive the contract. The balance is due when we arrive on the 19th. What I think would work best would be 20 students and 4 instructors. Thats $100 ea. student for a full day of track riding and 5 students per instructor. That should be manageable. The nice thing for those that are financially challenged (like myself) is that we have a month to come up with $50 ea. and then another month to come up with the last $50 ea.

The SCR management will put this down as a 'test and tune' day, as opposed to a 'race school'. This means that it falls under their insurance and we don't have to cough up an additional $500 for insurance.

It is up to us if we want an ambulance on standby at the track. The cost is $75/hr. and its up to us to arrange it.

Everyone will be required to have full safety gear. Boots, LEATHER jackets, pants and gloves, and helmet.

We need to figure out who is going to handle collecting the money. I started this thing and would be ok with doing it as long as everyone doesn't mind sending money to someone they don't know. We can work this part out.

OK - I can't think of anything else right now. I'm excited about this. I hope everyone else is as well. I think this should be a blast for everyone.

Do we have any volunteers to come out and do photo/video for us?

    Count me in for trainee.

I've got plenty of track time under my belt, but I'm no racer by any means. I'm interested in more race oriented type instruction and technique

I'd do the photography... but I certainly plan on being IN the classes.

I MIGHT be convinced to let someone else who has experience with a digital SLR use my camera though. Or... I can see what my professional photographer friend is doing that day... if he's available... I'm sure I can get him to assist since he's wanted to do a photoshoot of me on my bike since the first days I got my Daytona. What better environment than a closed track?

Sound good Vance. I just thought it would cool to have some pics and maybe some video, so we can see what we look like going around the track. Might help us see where we are making mistakes. Although, for n00bs like me, it would probably just be embarrassing.

    5 more to go!

Dan - My plan is to bring the camera and the tripod - that way stability won't be such a worry... and with the quick detatch - whoever would be able to get some good on the fly action shots if they need to that they wouldn't be able to get with the tripod's rotational capbabilities.
